Stress Balls!

Yesterday the year six's made stress balls!

It was for our Super Six programe 

I had so much fun!

( and I also spilled all the rice...)

BUT it came out pretty good. After we made them we got to draw faces on them but I didn't draw a face on mine I drew a number.

Here is what the finished stress ball looks like.

( because I just poped the ballon so I had to put a ballon over it ) 

But I like this one better.

How To Hang a Picture!

Final Camp Episode!

 Hi Bloggers!

Today is the FINAL EPISODE OF ARTHUR'S PASS CAMP!

And today It will be all about PARTY LUNCH!

DAY 3

Just after we did search and rescue.

We went insde APOEC and guess what was happening?

Well the room was filled with music and parents dancing and food on the table everyone washed their hands and had some food after we finshed our food we Got pizza, Mac and cheese and other delicous things.

After we had our food the parent took out the speaker and everyone danced it was a lot of fun.

Then after a while everyone started to Dance on the table and doing silly things 

It was a wonderful time after that we packed our thing and went on the bus and went home.

Sorry but we didn't have any photos for this so in this blog there won't be any DLO but I think you would know what it would look like and be like.

I had I wonderful time at camp and if you want to experince what I experinced come with your family or your school!

Camp Series 1 Episode 3

 Hi bloggers! Today I will be shareing with you what happened on Day 2!

Day 2 

It was in the afternoon that we returned to Devil's Punchbowl but this time we didn't go hiking instead we went downto the river.

After all kids in Rimu sat down our instructors Gemma and Ruby asked us some questions about river crossing.

The questions were like : How can you tell if the river is safe to cross? When you cross the river to you go downstream or upstream?....

Then Gemma and Ruby started to explain how to cross a river and when it is safe to cross.

After Gemma and Ruby explained, we tried the steps on the rock then we ACTUALLY CROSSED THE RIVER.... 

THE WATER WAS LIKE ICE.......

After I CROSSED THAT RIVER I FELT WHAT REAL COLD FEELS LIKE.

Now that I know how to cross a river and when to cross I can teach others who don't know or when my family goes on camp and has to cross a river I can teach them and cross safely across the river.

Camp Series 1 Episode 2

WELCOME BACK!

In this Episode I will be writing about THE ......... SENSORY TRAIL😱

DAY 1 PM...

We walked up the hills away from APOEC at night.

In the dark we turned on our torches. when we reached our destination we turned our ligth of it was dark as someone black hair we went in the forest We held onto the rope on the side we walked till the end in the middle was parents scaring you. Tripping over wet gloves We reached the end we went back but this time we had a partner one of us put a blind fold on the other lead the way in the middle of the forest we swaped then the person with the bindfold took the lead and the person leading had been blindfolded. 

Finally we reached the end we took the blindfold off.

We walked back to APOEC and had a shower did our refections and went to sleep.

Sorry But we didi take any photos but here is a drawing.

After this activity I anit scared of the dark anymore and I Can also walk through a forest with a blind fold on! ( With a partner )

Rimu Camp Series 1 Episode 1

 Welcome to the series of Rimu Camp!

Term 3 Week 7 Wedsday 

Rimu Went to Camp in Artthur's Pass.

Episode 1 Starts NOW

DAY 1 - 

We have just arrived in Athur's Pass there was a lot of snow there it filled the whole vilage. When we reached APOEC we unpacked our bags and went in the APOEC

( The place were we were staying in ) 

We met our two instructors Gemma and Ruby.

They ran through some games but before that they asked all of our names.

Then we played a game it is when the instrutor says jump in! then you jump in and then jump out! then you jump out and same with the left and right but... after we have mastered that we do the oppisite like if the instutor said in you would jump out same with left and right.

Then we went through some house rules well APOEC rules.

Then we went into our bunkrooms and put our thing in and picked our beds.

 A FEW MINUTES LATER.....

We were walking up a high mountain called Devils Punchbowl.

Many kids in our class counted how many steps there were on the way up and it was around 300 - 400 steps.

Then the instructors took us to the water fall it was an amazing view so we took some photos.

A FEW HOURS LATER....

We went back to APOEC and ate dinner.

Brushed our teeth had a shower and went to bed.

After the hike I felt kind of tried and it felt like my legs were going to come OFF!

( but they didn't ) 

I think that was a tiring day walking about 300 - 400 step but it was lot's of fun!

BUT IT WASN"T THE MOST TIRING DAY.....

well.....

Were going to Arthur's Past! 

For 2 days! 

I think we are very lucky to go camping in Arthur's Past for two days because we got to pick our own food! like BBQ,NACHOS,CHOCLATE MOUSSE and a lot more!

The most exiting bit is that we get this thing called campers cash. So how it works is if you do somthing postive like helping others trying new things... you get one campers cash and then once we get back to school we will have an auction and you have to use your campers cash to buy things like loilies, toys...

Guess what some of my classmates aready has two and other only have one are you wondering why some people only have two and some has one?

Well that is because that we all started off with one and our teacher said if on monday you bring it back in a ziplock plastic bag you will resive your second one! 

and I was one of the people who had two!.

I hope it turns out the same way I think!

I am also exitied because our teacher said that it might be snowing there!

The sad part is that we couldn't take the train back home because all the seats were full and couldn't keep the social dintance between us and others.

I Have A Dream 💭

 Hi Bloggers!

We are about to start our learning on Speeches in Rimu. When I heard this I Felt very nervous and very worried because I sometime get very nervous when I am infront of lot's of people.

Before we get into all the deep learning and creating, we had train our brain. In order to set up our minds for doing our speeches, we used the 6 tools in the menatl toughness toolkit ( if you are wondering what that is it is a workbook that we have been working on and it all relates to GRIT ) to make a motivational drawing of ourselves thinking about what we could do when we do our speech.We have used google drawing to create this drawing and my DLO is down below - a visualisation of me during my speeches learning. MY dream for how it will all go.

While I was creating this drawing I thought about What tip I should give myself for when I actually do my speech.

 The hardest part for me during speeches is going to be Staying calm and don't mess up.

 The easiest part is going to be probally writing my speech.

 I chose these tips for myself because I always get nervous when I do it and I always don't think it is fun I think it is a MUST DO.

 What I know about Blog Commenting:

I know that Blog comments have to be Positive, Thoughtful, Helpful and question

I aslo know that when you are commenting you have to try to make a conection with them to make a chat.

Also You will need to give them some feedback and not just talk about youself.

One other one I know is don't writng down you your private info like phone number house number plate...

St🌍ry Tim🕘 With Alvin!

Today it is Story time with Alvin! ( just saying this is not real ) 

Once upon a time there lived three little pig's the oldest one was called bacon and the second to oldest was called pork and the youngest one was called ham.

One day they decided to make their own houses so that they won't have to be share anything anymore.

The oldest one was the lazyest so he garthered some leaves and made a tiny hut. 

Well Pork was like his older brother he was very lazy too, so he just dug a hole and gathered some wood for his roof. The youngest one was not lazy at all but he is very selfish, so he built a house out of rocks. 

One day Mister Big Fat Fat Fat DINOSUAR came along and said OI BACON! LET ME EAT YOU! Bacon said no way! then the DINOSOUAR SAID WELL I WILL STEP ON YOUR HOUSE THEN!

but Bacon didn't care he said My hut is as hard as a rock! ( even though it is made out of leaves ) so the dinosaur stood on the hut made Bacon as flat as a Bacon!

Next he went to Porks house but se couldn't see anything that looked like a little house so he countinuted to walk but then he felt like the ground started to sink so he looked down at the ground and said HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! I stood on Porks House!.

Well that's not it he went to Hams house and said Let me STAND ON YOU but Ham said my house is stronger than anything in the world! But the DINOSUAR couldn't hear so he just stood on the rock house and that was the end of the Three little pigs lives.

( I think that I have done quite a good job on this story but I think it is a bit too long so I'll try to make it shorter next time but do you guys think it is Good? )

If this was a real book this would be it's front cover.

What is Resilience? 🤔

Yesterday we learnt about Resilience. 

It basicly means that you can recover quickly from what is distracting you.

So you kinda get what it means but if you still don't I will tell you a little secret don't tell anyone!

( Yesterday when our teacher was teaching us about Resilience she BROKE A PEN! Then she got the spring out to show us you will learn from you mistakes because no matter how long you strech the spring it will always bouch back but it will be longer so that means you have learn't something. )

Matariki kites

YMS Cross Country!

Hi Bloggers! Yesterday we had Cross Country! Before we started we cheered on all the other kids in the school and I think that this years race was the hardest for me.

I was always behind Lucas because he was quite fast and I had my tactic for the last 50 or 100m I used all the enegry I had left to finish the race, but guess what Lucas passed me! But just before he hit the finsh line I just got myself over the line. We ran 2100Km JUST KIDDING! We ran 2100m.

In this race I have learn't to keep my pace during the run and when you finsh you sprint and when you start you also sprint.

I relised that I had more enegry than last year and much more faster.

At the end I couldn't belive I won.

Guess what the Very good news is?

That I get to go to zones! Even better with two of my frinends!

I have made a Pie Chart of how many Rimu student's have Blue eyes and green eyes Exetra...

I have found out that most of the people in Rimu has Blue eyes.

In Cybersmart we were learning about images that we are allowed to use online. ( you heard me FOR FREE!) We also had to practice cropping and resizing the images to make sure that they fit perfectly in the box.

My New Blog!

Hi bloggers! This Tuesday Miss Morgan came and checked our blogs!

She check the world map and the other details on our blogs.

The problem was that I didn't have the world map so I had to change it but other than that it was fine.

The fun part was that we could change our backround and our colours.

I changed my backround into this really cool green technology thing.

Here is a photo of my changed Blog and I will also add some labels so you can see what has changed on my Blog!

I still have a problem but I just need to adjust it with my teacher I would like to change my font into a cooler one.

I am happy that I have the follow button now because before I didn't have it but all of my friends have so now I am glad I have it.

Bubbles!

Hi Bloggers! In these few days we have been drawing Bubbles! We basicly have a white paper and a black one but it turns out as the black one looks better than the white one well if you want to have a look at my one here it is!
I havn't spent a lot of time on it so it isn't my best.

  

I am proud of my detail but I think I had too much detail because if you look at it closely if doesn't really look like a Bubble.

But I think it was not too bad for the first time!
